NEW J/36

Go forth and conquer the ocean

J/Composites and J/Boats are pleased to introduce the NEW J/36, the evolution of the much-loved J/112E, a design that’s been winning hearts and silver around the world since launching in 2016: Double winner of the ORC World Championship, Winner of the ORC European Championship, Winner of the IRC European Championship, Winner of the Trophée Atlantique in IRC , Triple winner of Cowes Week, Double winner of Round the Island (UK)…

Awaken the sailor in you

The new name comes with a new deck plan, new cockpit, and J/40-inspired styling to provide more cruising comfort and sailing versatility to meet the needs and expectations of today’s sailing family.  With the NEW J/36, legendary performance meets true cruising comfort in a modern 36-footer that’s easy to sail and easy to own.

J36 1200x600

The evolution of the J/36 lies in its newly designed deck plan. The cockpit floor space is expanded with a twin wheel configuration, allowing easier fore/aft access and same-level transom boarding.  The same refined ergonomics that make the J/36 ideal for family cruising also improve crew efficiency during racing maneuvers.  The J/36 retains the easy-to-manage sail plan (main and small jib) and sleek hull/underbody of the J/112E, a design whose unique ability to sail well in both light and heavy winds has set it apart from other modern-day cruisers.

The newly designed companionway entrance provides a smooth transition between the cockpit and below.  The J/36’s interior features bright and comfortable spaces with numerous handholds and practical storage spaces – all designed for cruising life aboard.

The J/36 joins the J/40 and J/45 to complete the new performance cruising/racing range.  Whether you aspire to compete or simply relax, the J/36 is ready to deliver everything you might expect from an uncompromising performance sailboat.

Modestly manoeuvre double-handed

The positioning of the deck hardware on the J/36 Elegance has been carefully studied and selected to make manoeuvring as easy as possible.
A double-handed configuration is all that’s required to control her and the efforts involved mean that even a child can sail her!
The size and positioning of the winchs make every manoeuvre safe and the quality of the deck hardware enables effortless sail trimming.

Sail ecologically

Sailing is certainly the most pleasant and ecological way to get around with the utmost freedom. The Js’ unique ability to sustain performance will reduce your engine use by at least 15% leading to fewer polluting emissions.
